Good day, my name is Norman Anthony Smith. I’m a photographer by trade but storyteller by heart which is why I truly believe the key to getting quality images starts with the relationship between me and my clients.
One of the best aspects of being a photographer is being a part of some truly significant moments in people’s lives and careers. To this day I keep in touch with 80% of my clients and the main reason for this is the trust and bond created through our interaction before, during and after each event or portrait session.

Being a photographer is definitely about understanding lighting and angles; however, there are a lot of factors behind the scenes that play an integral role in capturing amazing photographs. This is why my main focus as your photographer is to first understand your photography needs.
Once I have an understanding of what is required of me the next step is to embed myself into the energy of your day. Whether it is an event or photo session the goal is to make capturing the right images effortless. Not everyone is comfortable in front of a camera or having to project ‘their best self’ with strobe lights or a stranger holding an intimidating piece of equipment in front of them. It’s my job to make sure the subject or subjects I’m photographing are comfortable and at ease in order for me to truly capture the ‘it’; that one shot that can go on a business card, billboard or hang in the foyer of a home.
Whether it’s a gala ceremony for Canada’s elite general counsel, a celebration which brings together 3 generations under one roof or taking that one dynamic portrait shot, my goal is to blend into the mix, interact and create the best situations to capture the moments that that you don’t always get to see.
